Sunday Morning Online Gathering: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Join us Sunday 31/05/20020
Our campaign for this year is Love Points the Way and Law Makes that possible. We hope that you will accept our invitation to be a part of this exciting and diverse community.
We will be covering 4 key topics. 1. Develop an awareness of negative beliefs
Developing an awareness of negative beliefs is central to Christian teachings for example this is emphasised in Romans 12:2 ‘Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind’. This section on the service helps facilitate an awareness of Limiting Thoughts which helps participants transform their beliefs/mind.
2. To release old emotions
Forgiveness involves a decrease in negative feelings (emotions) towards someone who caused hurt or towards self. Forgiveness is an important part of Christianity. With the grace and mercy shown to us, we are always able to start new with God. For example this is set-out in Matthew 6:14-15 'For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you’ This same teaching is reflected in the Lord’s Prayer; Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Forgiving someone when they have caused harm or pain is a difficult thing to do and this section of the service helps facilitate forgiveness.
3. To love oneself
The commitment to objectively know myself as I am, to fully experience life as it comes to me, and to honour my potential by continually seeking ways to grow is central to the Bibles golden rule and the 10 commandments, for example “Love your neighbour as yourself”, this section of the service helps facilitate the principle of loving-oneself.
4. To Practice techniques for challenges in one’s life.
Spiritual disciplines are important to Christian’s as the Bible points out there are two Forces that Shape Our Thinking. For example In Psalm 1, there are two forces that will shape our thinking: either the world or God’s word. We can either follow the counsel of the world or the counsel of the Word. Psalm 1 tells us that we should make God’s word our delight and meditate on it consistently – day and night. This section of the service helps facilitate spiritual disciplines.
